Yep, you can mark this date on your calendar: Gail started AND FINISHED a project! Of course, it was a simple set of background curtains that took me all day, but the fact remains that I FINISHED them. This shouldn't be such an enormous accomplishment, but it is and I'm going to revel in it :)
We got a flat panel TV about a year-and-a-half ago and just got rid of our old TV a few days ago. That left a gaping hole showing in the back of our ancient entertainment center (circa 1992, seriously) with unattractive cords hanging down behind it. Sooooooo, I decided to dig up some neglected fabric from my GPUP (Giant Pile of Unfinished Projects) and make some curtains to hide the eyesore. Here's what I came up with. Oh, and did I mention...I FINISHED them?!? Woohoooooooo!

Laura Goes Pop Culture
Laura & her middle school Wind Ensemble gave a fabulous concert last night! I can't believe a bunch of 12- and 13-year-olds can make such beautiful music.
This was one of the more fun pieces, "Pop Culture." Here's a clip I think all my fellow children of the 70's will get a special kick out of :)

Ginger's Orchestra Concert - I think you'll recognize that first SOLOIST!
This is a gorgeous piece of music called Czardas, and it was made even more beautiful by my lovely daughter playing the first solo!
